WELCOME TO ST JAMES & ST WILLIAM OF YORK READING
From this weekend there is no need for you to book to attend Mass. Simply register your details for NHS ‘Test & Trace’ with the stewards on arrival at Mass. It is important during the pandemic, that we are continue to be nourished and strengthened by the grace of the Lord in His Sacraments and by the witness of the Eucharistic community. Attending online is a huge bonus but it is not the same as actually participating in the Liturgy of the Mass with our brothers and sisters and receiving Holy Communion.
PARISH DATABASE REGISTRATION
Are you registered on our parish database ? Do you receive our weekly newsletter by email ? If not, we are asking everyone who has not registered to do so as soon as possible. You will then receive the newsletter each week alongside all parish wide communications and updates.

These are questions we ask every day. So why not join us from the comfort of your homes as we explore the meaning of life on ALPHA!
At St James and St William of York we are running an Alpha Online course every Friday from the 2nd of October 7pm – 9pm for 10 weeks.
What is Involved?
The course is based around small groups of about 6-8 people. Each evening there will be an opportunity to say hello to fellow guests. St James Catholic church

St James Church is built within the ruins of the great Benedictine Abbey. Today we continue the practice of the monks to celebrate the Sacred Liturgy in Word and Sacrament. The church was built between 1837 and 1840, the architect was A W Pugin. On 14th December 2012 the community celebrated a Mass of Thanks giving on the 175th Anniversary of the Laying of the Foundation Stone and completion of the recent restoration work in the church.
