The image of Jesus as a shepherd is very well-known; less well-known is the image of Jesus as the door, or the gate. He is the gate through which the flock finds shelter and security. Pope Francis a few years ago urged priests and bishops to get to know their flocks and be like shepherds who ‘smell’ of their sheep. Everyone matters to the Good Shepherd – we are all called to follow Jesus in a more personal and intimate way. Even when we stray off the path and get lost it is the Good Shepherd who comes looking for us. This Sunday watch the different images of the Good Shepherd which are on the screen before and after the online Mass.
