Today we hear about things lost and found, the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son—better known as the Prodigal son. We hear of the father who watches out for his ‘prodigal’ son and runs out joyfully to meet him. The younger brother ‘came to his senses’ and returned home. What a homecoming, what a welcome. The spendthrift son is rewarded and the elder son is hurt and angry. It seems to be unfair.

Questions to ponder:

What helped you to come to yourself and make the journey home?

What experience of human love helped you to see God’s love for you?

Who is lost and who is found in the story ?
