I believe that the key to changing the culture of our parish is the way we welcome people at Sunday Mass. Every week we have new people at Mass. Part of their experience is the way they are included and accepted in our community. If we fail to offer them a welcome we have lost them. People want to belong, to be loved and accepted. We want to create a warm, welcoming and caring church community.
I was disappointed at the very poor response to my appeal for volunteers to join our team of welcomers last weekend. Perhaps I didn’t do it very well. Today, I want to make a second effort and ask if you could take on the role of meeting & greeting people at the start of Mass. There is a monthly rota and training will be provided.
We require 8 people at the 11am Mass and 6 people at the 6pm Mass. Please help our parish community and sign up—forms are at the back of church. Please don’t ignore my request.
