Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday. It is a period of 40 days, a time of renewal and new beginnings, a time to enter into the suffering and death of Jesus. During Lent we are invited to take part in three fundamental practices of fasting, praying, and alms-giving. It is a time to turn back to God, a time to re-orientate our lives, a time to root out all that is evil in our lives. Lent is ‘THE FAVOURABLE TIME’ to prepare for The Great Feast of Easter when we celebrate our central belief that God raised Jesus to new life after his death on the cross.
Please do join us on Ash Wednesday and receive ‘The Ashes’ and hear the words ‘Repent, and believe in the Gospel’, all of us are in need of God’s mercy.
