This year, the theme chosen is “TORN FROM HOME” it invites us to reflect on what it must be like to be forced out of what we know as “home”. Millions of Jews and others were sent to concentration camps where they were used as slave labour. Millions were murdered as part of the Nazi organised program of annihilation. As we keep the memory of the past alive, we pray that the future may be free from hatred and prejudice of all kinds.
