Today we mark the arrival of ‘THE THREE WISE MEN’ from the East at the manger in Bethlehem to pay homage to Christ. Tradition suggests that the three men dressed in robes of Kings came bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Gold is a gift for a King. Frankincense used in worship of God indicates the baby is God, he is Christ the Lord. Myrrh was used in oil to anoint Kings. They were guided across the dessert through the darkness by the light of a star. The wise men represent all of us, (all nations) who are in search of Jesus Christ.

Epiphany is a time for asking Christ to bless the house. Many inscribe on the front door in chalk the letters C M B, the initials of the three Kings; Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar, and the date of the year 2019. Say a prayer of blessing in your house today.
